A responsible person established in the EU, with a defined product scope and ongoing obligations.
What is an EU Responsible Person?
A natural or legal person established in the EU who ensures that each covered cosmetic product meets the relevant obligations of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009.
- Compliance oversightEnsures the covered products meet applicable cosmetic requirements.
- Accessible product recordsMakes the PIF available to competent authorities at the address indicated on the label.
- Authority contact and follow-upCooperates with authorities and takes appropriate corrective measures, including withdrawal or recall where required.
- Identification on the labelThe RP name or registered name and address must appear on the container and packaging.
RP appointment is not a postal-address service. Coverage requires document review, an agreed product scope and written appointment. The legal duties are not limited by the commercial package.
