CPSR and PIF: What Each File Contains

The CPSR addresses safety assessment. The PIF brings together the product information and supporting documentation, including the safety report.

In this guide

  1. The safety report
  2. The wider product file
  3. Keep versions connected

The safety report

The safety report uses product and ingredient information to support a qualified safety assessment. Missing inputs or evidence can prevent the assessor from completing the report.

The wider product file

The product information file includes a wider set of product documentation and the safety report. A folder of unlabelled attachments is not a reliable way to show which evidence applies.

Product-specific scope

The final requirements and suitability of existing evidence are determined for the actual formula, intended use and markets.

Keep versions connected

Link reports and labels to formula versions. When information changes, preserve the previous records and ask the specialist which files or conclusions require review.
