EU Cosmetic Label Review: Information and Claims

Prepare the complete artwork and identify the intended countries of sale. Claims need to be considered alongside the evidence supporting them.

In this guide

  1. Start with complete artwork
  2. Specify markets and languages
  3. Connect claims to evidence

Start with complete artwork

Provide the complete packaging and artwork, not only front-panel text. The intended use, product identity and relevant warnings are considered alongside the formula and documentation.

Specify markets and languages

Identify each intended country and the languages used on packaging. Domestic-market status and terminology do not automatically determine the European classification or labelling requirements.

Product-specific scope

The final requirements and suitability of existing evidence are determined for the actual formula, intended use and markets.

Connect claims to evidence

List claims and their supporting evidence, including revised claims on new artwork. Keep comments connected to a specific artwork version so corrections can be reviewed consistently.
